Jesus and Satan: A Parable…

Jesus withdrew from the crowds to find a place to pray. He went deep into the wilderness, far from his disciples. He sat silently next to a stream. After praying for several hours, Jesus opened his eyes to find Satan standing beside him.

“Come with me, Son of Heaven, and I shall show you great things,” said Satan.

“What things could you show me?” asked Jesus.

The dark prince answered, “Come and see.”

A dark myst enclosed the area around them both. Once it had cleared, the two were suddenly atop a great dune in the midst of a vast desert.

“Look around, Son of Heaven. These grains of sand represent the sins of your people,” said Satan. “How do you plan to save them?” Jesus bent down and began to write something in the sand. Satan looked puzzled. The demon walked over to Jesus who was still kneeing, looking down at the words. “What does ‘LOLz’ mean?” asked Satan. Jesus threw a handful of sand in the face of Satan, causing him to stumble backwards and roll comically down the dune.

Jesus returned to his feet, chuckling to himself. “Silly Satan,” he said.
